Meet Astro – a stunning, flashy gelding with presence, personality, and plenty of flair! Currently competing at Novice (Grade 2) Dressage, Astro consistently brings home ribbons and is always ready to give his all for his rider.

Astro has beautiful movements (above average), especially ext trot! He has beautiful leg yeilds, shoulder ins, walk to canters, etc. Great dressage schoolmaster, been there, done that type.

Don’t be fooled by his age – Astro has many competitive years left and is still full of life and energy, (wouldnt be surprised by another 8-9 years). He thrives on work, loves being out and about, and is always game for an adventure, whether it’s a beach ride, a bush track, or a fun day at Pony Club.

While not a jumper, Astro is more than happy to join in low-level jumping activities at pony club rallies, always with a willing and safe attitude. Under saddle, he’s a true gentleman with big, expressive movements – a dream for someone who wants to shine in the dressage ring. On the ground, he can be a bit cheeky at times when uncomfortable or very excited (rarely), so he’ll thrive best with a confident, knowledgeable home that understands him and appreciates his spirit.

Astro is as reliable as they come when traveling – self-loads, stands quietly all day, and is an absolute pleasure to have out at competitions or trail rides, with or without other horses. He’s safe, sane, and always brings his rider home with a smile.

He’s easy to catch, clip, shoe, float, and more than happy to please. Astro does have a couple of manageable past health issues – nothing that affects his performance, or day to day, when cared for correctly, and I’m happy to discuss this further with genuinely interested buyers. Very sound.

This has been an incredibly tough decision as Astro is truly one in a million. He will only be sold to a 5-star home, where his talents will be appreciated, and will be very loved. He’s best suited to a rider focusing on dressage, with some experience to enjoy his big movement and work ethic. 

For sale as my focus lies within show jumping and eventing, he deserves to be out more often with someone who truly values his talent. 

We have put a lot of work into finding Astro a good saddle that fits him well, therefore his saddle and half pad will be included.
