We have a very lovely three year old gelding, J Star Top Gun. This gelding has 65 years of selective J Star Stud breeding behind him. He is out of a lovely mare, J Star Wings who has show ribbons to RAS level, is currently one of our top broodmares and comes from our great Mystery Polocrosse line.

J Star Top Gun is a lovely type of chestnut gelding, will mature at around 15.3hh and has an incredible temperament. A lovely soft horse to ride who was broken in as a two year old and has been back with my trainer, Mark West, for his second round of instruction.

A very person friendly horse who is extremely easy to do anything with.

Highly recommended.

Has now had the work to be ridden by most riders and to commence his career.

The Breeding of the J Star Mystery Line

The Mystery line is a foundation line of the J Star Stud. This mare, J Star Mystery purchased in 1960 became a champion polocrosse mare of the early 1960s winning the Famous Wansey Cup at Dubbo for Maitland on two occasions and was part of the First Hunter Valley team to ever win a state title at Bathurst in 1964. J Star Mystery won many pony prizes.

J Star Mystery is the dam of J Star Canshe. Ridden by Julie Davison this mare was one of the great mares of the 1970s winning the Carmel Brien Trophy for the best ladies mare of NSW, The Champion Ladies horse at the International test Canberra, Champion Pony the Interstate Series, Sydney Royal and a multitude of Champion Ladies Ponies and Best No 3s.

J Star Canshe was the dam of J Star Canshe II, probably one of the best mares we ever bred. Ridden by Brett Holz she appeared to have everything to go to the top. Unfortunately, an accident at home halted her career.

As a broodmare, Canshe II proved to be outstanding! She is the dam of J Star Wings [Dam of J Star Top Gun] and the great polocrosse horses, J Star Cleopatra [Cleo - Kimmy Hood] played twice at the Nationals, J Star Julius [Tasmania], J Star Dare, J Star Caught Out and J Star Double Dare [Queensland], and J Star Wattle [Victoria].
