BUCKLEDOWN KANZA GIRL
'Pumpkin' is a golden dapple buckskin, 15hh registered Morgan mare.
Don't let her rising 19 years fool you - she's barely done a hard day's work prior to coming to us, and is completely sound without the use of any joint supplements (any supplements) or injectables.

Pumpkin is a sweet, affectionate girl, who I purchased for my 10 year old daughter.  She'd come straight off a 5 year spell and was unfit and sleepy and ever so perfect for my young but experienced daughter - for the past 8 months they did PC, jumping, trail riding, cross country and games together. However, as her fitness has increased, she's realised that she can intimidate my daughter by stopping and cow-kicking.
She has NEVER bucked, reared or bolted, even when I've put her under considerable pressure.

She has never displayed this behaviour with myself (experienced adult), or my taller 13 year old niece.
I have had to make the heart-breaking decision to move her on, as I want my daughter to enjoy riding, and I want to get back to riding my own performance horses (that, and I prefer dressage these days to jumping and eventing).

She is NOT a beginners horse, nor is she suitable for a child or timid rider (or I would keep her), and I will not be selling her to anyone unsuitable.
She IS THE PERFECT HORSE for someone wanting to succeed at eventing - either at Interschools or EA.
Dressage is not her favourite thing, however, she has the basics in place, including leg yield, shoulder in, etc. and actually has a real aptitude for it, as she is naturally supple and forward.  As a dressage rider, if I had the time to put into her, I feel that she would definitely have the potential to train to at least Medium level EA if not higher.

If I was still eventing, she would be my dream horse.  She has NO SPOOK, she is VERY forward but with a gallop to walk snaffle mouth.  She has never stopped or baulked at a jump for me.  She seems to NEVER get tired or lose enthusiasm for her job.
Currently schooling up to Grade 2 PC Cross Country and SJ with HEAPS of scope still left in the tank.  I think she could easily go 1* with correct management.

My dream home for Pumpkin would be a gutsy teenager wanting to smash Interschools, or a smaller adult wanting to proceed through the higher levels of HRCAV eventing into EA.  An independent seat, BAGS of confidence, kind hands and an adventurous spirit are a must with this pint sized diva.

At home, Pumpkin is a real snuggle bug with her people.
I'm not going to lie - she's a mare. She tolerates other horses and can be paddocked with other horses or alone, but prefers to keep to herself.  Having said that, her best friends here are our alpaca and goat, and she will curl up side-by-side with our alpaca for hours in the sun.

At PC, she wasn't a fan of playing 'follow the leader' with the other ponies and had to go in front.  I think in the higher grades where she was doing fun stuff, she'd be fine. Otherwise, she WILL do the dreaded mare stare, lol!!!  She lives with a stallion on our property and does not act out in any way in his presence.
She will catch YOU in the paddock. Currently shod in front and good for the farrier. Always handled by my 10 year old. Easy to travel and take out. Competition ready - in fact, due to being stuffed around by previous buyer, she will be campaigned by myself in Show Jumping just to keep her happy as she loves to keep her mind busy.

As she was meant to have found her forever home with us, Pumpkin CAN come with the custom, made to measure close contact English leather jump saddle I had made for her for a total price of $10,000.  WITHOUT her saddle, I will accept $8,000.00
Her price is a reflection of her age.  If she was younger, she'd be more than twice the price.

PLEASE NOTE!  We welcome all vet checks and there are plenty of vets that are happy to travel her for said PPE. Whilst she is rising 19 and I'm not  expecting them to be perfect, we are MORE than happy for full X-rays to be included. She has never had an unsound day with us - but I've gone trhough menopause, so who am I to judge 😜 ALL PPEs MUST BE CONDUCTED ON SITE PRIOR TO HER LEAVING THE PROPERTY (I know I'm stating the obvious, but apparently I'm not). As far as her general health is concerned, we are MORE than happy to provide FULL disclosure as we just want her to find her perfect forever home.

NO MORE TYREKICKERS PLEASE! I'm a full time (12-14 hours per day in surgical theatres) single working mum also caring for may eldery parents in palliative care. If you think it's fun to kick someone when they're down... it's not... We have room and feed so we DO NOT need to negotiate on price! We are looking for the perfect home.

Located Eden Park, VIC 3757 (near Whittlesea)
Will not be sold sight unseen.
